Antiplatelets: They prevent the formation of blood clots.

• Prodrug requires in vivo metabolism to form an active metabolite that irreversibly binds to P2Y12 receptors thereby blocking ADP binding.
• This P2Y12 receptor antagonism inhibits ADP-mediated platelet activation and aggregation.
